Mysterious circumstance (Anthro Jolteon TF)

John was sat at the bus stop not a long walk down the road from his house. He waited for a few minutes before the bus rolled to a stop. He was the only one there as he arrived earlier than usual because he wanted to be the first one to get his hands on the new Nintendo 3DSXL. It was the special pokemon edition with a 50GB hard drive and a special minimalist eeveelution case. He had his black and blue rucksack on as he stepped on the bus and handed the money over in exchange for his ticket.

He walked down the middle and sat five rows down near the window. The bus then began to set off. He wanted it so bad as the new Pokemon games were coming out in a few months and he wanted to spend time playing Pokemon X and Y, and Black 2 and White 2. After a short bus ride he got off in town. It was very minimal; not many chain shops, mostly local shops. He went to the game shop and handed the pre-order receipt.

The dark-brown haired man at the counter walked into a back room with the receipt and cam back a minute later with a big box with the 3DSXL and the games. "That would be £150 please." John reached into his wallet to grab roughly the exact amount and handed it over. The box was then put into a big plastic bag with a receipt. After walking out he walked to the park to test out his new handheld console. He sat at a nearby bench underneath a giant tree to use the shade to help him see the screen better during the day. He put Pokemon X into the console as he looked at it, rotating it, admiring the design on it. The console was covered in smooth vinyl.

After the usual start screen he was waiting to get to choose the starter so he could choose Fennekin, but before he could he was interrupted by a strange man hiding behind the tree. "Do you want me to upgrade that thing for you?"

"How exactly? And where and who are you?" replied John, obviously suspicous about his behaviour. "First answer, I can install a device that creates a temporary hologram around you so it can make so you are in the game. Second answer, behind this tree. Thurd answer, that isn't important."

This could be some scam to steal his device but curiousity got the better of him as he though how cool it would be to be in the game. So he rose up from his seat and walked to where he was and watched as he did some technical wizardry to install something on the 3DSXL. Five minutes later it was returned, "Alright it should be happening in a few seconds, it will start with a bright light."

Getting ready he stood still prepared for this 'bright light' and soon it did happen. Some pixelated text appeared in front of him saying 'Welcome to the world of Pokemon. Get ready for transportation.', "Erm, I don't think it should be saying 'Get ready for transportation'."

"Oh, sorry, put the wrong one in, heheh... heh. Don't know how to fix it. Sorry", great, he was stuck in some completely different pokemon game. More text appeared 'Transportation conplete'. Soon a realistic looking world atarted to form around him: grass, then trees, then paths, and finally buildings. Soon he noticed that he began to feel something odd, something real. The clothes started disappear as yellow fur sprouted from his body and began to spread. Unable to move he was forced to experience it all.

Soon white fur grew from his neck forming pointed edges. The yellow fur spread quickly until not a single patch of skin was visible. Surprisingly the fingers on both his hands didn't fuse into three digits. The same went for his feet, the only change happening was he started to walk on his toes as the rest of his feet got longer slightly. Soon other anthro pokemon appeared, also looking realistic and were able to talk. He felt kind of excited to interact with them as it may be his only chance.

However, one question remained in his mind: was this just part of the 'holographic experience' or was he actually teleported to another universe.
